10-10-10 Fertilizer Per Acre Calculator
Calculate 10-10-10 balanced fertilizer product per acre from a target nutrient rate, with total pounds, bags and bulk tons for the field.
How This Calculation Works
Product pounds per acre equals the target nutrient rate divided by the analysis percentage, times 100. For 60 pounds of nitrogen per acre from 10-10-10, that is 600 pounds of product per acre, which also supplies 60 pounds each of phosphate and potash. Total product is that figure times acres.

Common Questions
How much 10-10-10 do I apply per acre?
Divide the target nutrient rate by 0.10 to get product per acre. A 60 pound nitrogen target needs 600 pounds of 10-10-10 per acre. That same product also delivers 60 pounds each of phosphate and potash.
What does 10-10-10 mean?
The three numbers are the percentages of nitrogen, available phosphate and soluble potash by weight. A 50 pound bag of 10-10-10 contains 5 pounds of each nutrient. The remaining 35 pounds is carrier filler.
Is 10-10-10 good for lawns?
It works well for established lawns that need all three nutrients, but many lawns need mostly nitrogen and little phosphorus. A soil test tells you whether the balanced ratio is justified. Over-applying phosphorus is a common and avoidable mistake.
How many bags of 10-10-10 per acre?
Divide total product pounds by the bag weight. At 600 pounds per acre and 50 pound bags, that is 12 bags per acre. Round up to the next whole bag for ordering.
